Carbonised at high temperatures (215°), the nutrients in the wood are decomposed into fibre crystals. This effectively reduces water absorption rate, which increases the stability and durability of our products. Our products also have lower expansion and contraction rates than other plywoods on the market.

Healthful
With almost zero formaldehyde release, Tjip Seng’s Carbonised Plywood series complies with National Green Building Material Standards. Our series of products are certified by Chinese National Standards (CNS) and SGS SA (SGS). The carbonised micro-pores produced after thermal treatment can absorb formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds in indoor air, improving air quality and reducing odours.

Sustainable
The raw materials of Tjip Seng Carbonized Plywood are all sourced from planted forests and regenerated forests, avoiding deforestation. The durability and longevity of carbonized plywood can reduce replacement frequency, which can save time and resources.
